Hutton Poplars Tree Maintenance Briefing
Cllr Keith Barber and Cllr Sandy Tanner recently organised a briefing for residents in Hutton North living near to the popular Woodland Walk that runs around the perimeter of Hutton Poplars estate. Local residents heard an update from Brentwood Borough Council's arboriculturalist Mr Alan Marsh. A summary of the work planned is as follows :
Ash - Removal of the majority of the remaining Ash Trees. The stumps will remain in situ and will either regrow as coppice (small trees) or decay naturally into the soil. New replacement trees will be planted and will be made up of a variety of native species (e.g. oak, hornbeam, wild service and field maple). The replanting will take place in the planting season (Nov 23- Mar 24).
Hornbeam - In addition to the above work will be undertaken to re-coppice the Hornbeam.
Full details of the work can found in the attached update to residents.
